The collection intends to provide a contemporary interpretation of an icon of classical music and master of the piano in a way making him more familiar to all, regardless of their age and musical preferences. A series of products was designed for that purpose: cotton hooded sweatshirts and T-shirts with prints inspired by various arts and musical genres. The rendering of Chopin featured on some products is based on Eugène Delacroix’s Portrait of Fryderyk Chopin and creatively transformed in various styles: fluorescent colours bring to mind artistic graffiti, there is inspiration with futuristic films, pop art, and photographic techniques (negative/positive). The lettering accompanied the portraits alludes to the punk rock style of the 1980s. Artistic prints combined with white, black, and grey streetwear make the collection exceptional and timeless.
This is the first chapter in cooperation of Bytom brand and the Fryderyk Chopin Institute cherishing the memory of the artist.
The Bytom Icons of Culture – Chopin collection continues the concept of the brand aimed at recalling outstanding figures of Polish culture and art, and encouraging reaching for their works.
